I'm not a die-hard fan at all. :) I'm basing what I know about TVD from what I've heard from my best friend, who IS a die-hard fan. I'm a die-hard Supernatural fan, and I'll admit the bias that that gives me.

The only other thing I guess I have to say is that this show has vampires AND werewolves? It sounds familiar to another certain teen vampire series but I would want to watch the show before I gave it a "Twilight" label for sure. *shudder* I certainly HOPE it's better than that. :)

Well, I think that SPN should win this one. I loved the season finale, I cried almost the whole 40 minutes! Don't understand other SPN fans, who complain about this episode.
No offence, but TVD is a childish runny show to me. I honestly tried to watch it and got really really BORED! It seems to be only about this crazy vampire fasion, that started with Twilight.

LOL! Probably. Becky certainly seemed very, very similar to some of the samfans I've seen around fandom.

I actually don't think Kripke cares much about any of the fans so long as he managed to get his five years and his syndication deal.

He set out to tell the story of Sam and that's what he did. I would actually respect him for sticking to his guns if he hadn't lied and kept insisting that this was a story about both brothers equally. In the end, it turns out he just needed to keep the dean fans hanging around long enough to get those 100 episodes.

Good luck with season 6 gang. You're gonna need it.

Reasons to vote the vampire diaries -

1- What's going to happen with Elena and Katherine in the same house?

2- Is Elena going to find Jeremy dead or a vampire?

3- Is Caroline alive?

4- What the heck is Tyler??

5- Did Mayor Lockwood survive?

6- What will happen with Stefan and Elena's relationship with Katherine now back?

7- Is this the end of Delena?

8- Will Elena turn into a vampire?

9- What will Jena find when she gets home?

10- Will Bonnie leave bacause all the vampires?

I could keep going, but really do I have to? 10 cliffhangers in the end half of a hour long show. Who else can do that? Nobody. Only The Vampire Diaries.

OTH has gone way down hill. The cliffhanger was predictable and Clay and Quinn are obviously going to survive.

I haven't liked season 2 of 90210 at all, and the cliffhanger wasn't great. It took a whole season for Annie to fess up. I really can't feel any sympathy for Naomi. She's too much of a bitch.

The Vampire Diaries is it for me. It leaves you with so many questions and possibly scenarios, I'm going insane wondering what will happen.

Really, SPN fans who only complains. "Don't go away angry, just go away"

I agree that we don't need the conplaining Spn fans...but in a way, we'll need them more than ever next year. Going on friday night....the ratings will go down for sure. And if you consider the number of crazy fans who are always complaning, if we lose them, the show is as good as dead next year

Ok, SN's final really dosnt deserve 2 win cause... Well lets face it, it wasnt that impressive. Alot of the SN fans r putting on smiles and saying it was great cause then TVD wins ofcorse. I use 2 like SN but the writers try 2 hard now. Whats wrong the get nervous over some friendly competition? The competition beiing TVD of corse.

1. Damon thought he kissed Elena, will he go to Stefan and taunt him? Will he confront Elena? Did he realize it was Katherine after the fact? Did he go straight home, or will Elena walk into that kitchen and see Damon cleaning up the mess Katherine made?

2. Will Caroline live? (Likely, yeah, but still ..., this show DOES kill their main characters.)

3. Is John dead? Likely, yeah, but the actor is coming back for s2, so who knows?

4. Is Jeremy dead? Is he on this way to becoming a vampire? Did the suicide attempt fail?

5. Is Katherine still in the house? Will Elena be confronting her?

6. So we now know definitively that Tyler is a werewolf, what happens next?

And you actually think that viewers aren't dying in anticipation for next season!?!??!?!?

I like TVD final, because it wasn't Elena! But I knew it, coz Elena won't betray Stefan(instead of his brother). Otherwise she'll become worse, then Katherine and it'll become just other GG, where everybody cheets. Hope Elena will not dissapoint

Sam fans have always bitched as much as Dean fans. Hell last year they were timing the exact number minutes and seconds Sam got on screen vs. Dean and moaning about it all over the internet because Dean got a few minutes more than Sam. I agree with you, Mary.We don't need anti sn fans. We are better without them, because is a shame, a huge shame we still have fans - sn goes now for its sixth season- who keep complaining about Sam and Dean and about the show and the screen time they have and blah. it's sad, pathetic.

For example. I was a huge fan of Smallville. Now i don't like the way SV is been written and i don't like plenty of things of this Show. Solution: i stop wacthing. Period. Problem solved.

Vampire Diaries! I am still thinking about it! What will Katherine do? And the clip also left out the Caroline cliffhanger (will she die or will the surgery work?), and the Tyler cliffhanger (what is he?). So TVD!

See, I just can't imagine the VD ending would make people nervrous with anticipation months after. I can see how it would have the "holy crap! I can't wait for next season!!' factor but it doesn't appear to be the type of thing that people need to speculate over and question and obsess over and I'm just so ready for Supernatural already!!! :)

I thought the ending would be surprising by leaving Sam in Hell for the summer so when they not only made Chuck disappear but showed Sammy again, I was flabbergasted! Everyone knows that it's Katherine and there's no question about that in the VD finalebut no one knows whether Sam is indeed Sam or a ghost/angel/good demon/evil demon/Lucifer/etc. That's a great finale right there!

I voted SUPERNATURAL simply because the show hands down is the best in the universe! What more could you want? Chuck (absolutly is GOD!), Sam (Samifier?, YED?), Dean, Bobby & Crowley issues, Adam (Michael?), last but not least Castiel (Archangel?). There's so many places that the show could go. Who knows what's going to happen? As for the Deangirls & Samgirls? I really don't care, I don't hate. I am neither (just look at my name it says it all). The show's the best. As for VD? Why would I watch a movie take-off? (come on be original.) Stopped watching Smallville because got tired on waiting for 'Smallville' to fly.

I'm sorry, but it's so funny when people question Sam's humanity considering there's going to be another season (and then another one.. I don't think they would find new show runner just for one season). This show is about two brothers and if one of them was not himself than Supernatural's purpose would not be fulfilled. As simple as that. Meaning.. Supernatural's cliffhanger is quite cheesy, if you ask me. They were looking for a way to bring Sam back, because they cannot kill him off since he is a main character.

@Katie, I am also a Sam girl but like you I love Dean very much. It's just that I know so many Dean girls that absolutely loved the finale and they get really pissed off when some extreme Dean girls use the term "Dean fans" to give emphasis to their complaints.
And to fans like "jacks" and "dontcareanymore" all I have to say is that it will be better if you're done with the show, because we really don't need fans that are whining and complaining all the time...

I only watch 3 of the shows, Gossip Girl, 90210 and The Vampire Diaries. Out of all this, the only finale that had me wanting more and on the edge of my seat was The Vampire Diaries. I honestly can't wait for the new season, its going to be brilliant!

This poll's already become a bitchfight over Sam vs. Dean? Wow. Supernatural fandom, I love you, but seriously, y'all need to STFU for a little while.

I'm not real familiar with these polls but it's 4am and I haven't been to sleep, and I'm here, so, here's an arbitrary place for a mini essay long in the making... I've mostly been voting for TVD and was surprised to see so much competition in some of these polls, given the specific scenes described. I suspect many people are getting a feeling of rivalry and simply want to vote for their favourite shows, regardless of the specifics. To me these two shows are the perfect couple, complex, dark, and evocative.

I've watched every episode of Supernatural every week since it started airing, awed by its development into one of the best series on television in a long while -- the show has even allowed me to listen to classic rock, not a genre I've been able to listen to in the past without imagining bad haircuts and cheap supermarket speakers, because I attach so many moments to Supernatural scenes, such as Styx - Renegade & Kansas - Wayward Son.

But Supernatural's finale wasn't a huge cliffhanger in my mind. The ending was an epic, satisfying resolution to the series with a kind of opening for a reboot with a new frontrunner.

Even the bit with Chuck, I was surprised to see these suggestions about him being God: I thought simply that his duties as a heavenly prophet were complete and that 'story' had come to an end with style, and I figured Sam was simply returned in a way that will have little to do with Lucifer and that Heaven and Hell arc except with a sense of closure...

The best cliffhanger? That easily goes to the total mindfrak that was the first season finale of The Vampire Diaries. I didn't even expect there to be a cliffhanger, with the way the episode wound down, and the next thing you know, twist after twist, cunningly concealed by setting up layers of reasonable expectations and then pulling the rug out, interconnected with the tantalizing build-up of other characters' impending arcs and fates, all done with the kind of stylish, confident proficiency that I don't expect from freshman shows, despite the series improving with each episode.

VP! - I used to watch SPN, but season 5, especially the laast 3 episodes, killed the interest for me.

I voted for Vampire Diaries...best new show period. Either way the cliffhangers were really awesome in TVD compared to other shows I watch including Smallville/Supernatural. Vampire Diaries is only like 25 votes behind...go TVD :)

The Vampire Diaries hands down. Had the best CLIFFHANGERS ever. First off . Katherine returns. Damon kissing Katherine which he thought was Elena. Tylers freaking a werewolf. Tylers dad Mayor Lockwood dying. Anna dying. Jeremy kills himself to become a vampire. And Carolines internal bleeding. Thats 7 cliffhangers right there. And many more to come. TVD is the shit.

I never say that all the Deangirls and Samgirls are crazy. I'm a Samgirl myself and I just LOVE Dean too.

But 90% of the people who are complaining that the show is all about one of the boys it's cause they want the show to be ONLY about Dean or ONLY about Sam. Cause they both have big things, big storylines in the whole show.

For exemple, some people are complaining that the show is only about Sam cause he has power and all and are Deangirls cause they want the show with no Sam and there other people who are complaining that it's all about Dean being the Chose One, Dean being saved from Hell, Dean broking the first seal....those people are Samgirls wanting to kill Dean off the show

Can i take a guess and say you never watch Spn? Cause the finale was not boring at all and at the end of S5, Sam jumped in Hell with Lucifer....it was totally unexpected to see him come back and we have no idea if he's himself or Lucifer or a ghost...or a demon.

And Chuck being God was SUCH a surprise. I never saw a theory saying that Chuck was God

@Jamie-- Supernatural ended with Sam sacrificing himself and then he shows up again at the very end. Everyone who hasn't read spoilers for season 6 have no clue if it's Lucifer wearing Sam as a meatsuit or if it's Sam.

In truth, if you haven't watched Supernatural, you won't appreciate the cliffhanger ending. The same goes for all the other shows.

The best cliffhanger??? Supernatural off course.I love Chuck and the idea that he can be God is A-W-E-S-O-M-E. And i'm so looking forward to know more about Sam. Sam and his story is so misterious and so interesting. I love his powers. For me his scenes are the highest points of the show.I am thirsty to know more about him. I can't get enough of his background, strenght, personality, love for his brother and so on. I Love Lisa and i really hope she won't get killed - we have enough of female characters killed on this show- but i don't want to see Dean and Lisa story and Dean angst about his return to the hunting life. I want to see more about the brothers and their relationship - the sibling relationship is the main aspect of the show - and what cames in between is secondary. Sam and Dean relationship is what the real fans of the show want to see - thats why swang song was perfect, because it was a heartbreaking episode and mainly focused on the brothers. If we will be able to see more mistery about Sam, bring it. He is the fictional character of the show - and SPN is a fictional tv show. So, for the ones who don't like fiction, mistery, special effects, go wacth Grey's Anatomy or 90210.

Yup, I'm a Dean fan and I would wager anything that if the finale had Dean being the one and only hero while Sam was told he's not important and left out, the Samfans wouldn't be calling this the best finale ever.

Also true, I'm no longer a true fan, because season 5 and the finale have sucked any love I had for this show right out.

It was crappy of Kripke to use the Dean fans to get to his 5 season goal then to spit on us. So no, I don't care anymore to watch the show.

I have to go with SPN, not just because it's my fave of the shows given, but because it's the only one that didn't go with the cliché cliffhanger of someone on the verge of dying or you know, just someone dead. (at least when SPN did it after s3, they did so after a year of working up to it and then showed the char in question in hell...Though I'll admit that's no excuse for the s1 cliffhanger*eg*)

I'm just much more curious to find out what's up with Sam's return, than I would be about wondering if any of the dying chars will end up dead or not.

The Vampire Diaries, hands down. I love Supernatural, but TVD had the better cliffhanger this year.
