The fine folks at KWGN in Denver are hosting a Battle of the CW Hotties as we speak. Right now, the Women's bracket is up, but you can still vote in the Men's bracket as well. The second phase of the Men's competition launches Friday, and the second round of Women's matches goes up on Tuesday, February 18 -- so get voting!

Then there's an all networks battle to the death over at the South Florida Sun Sentinel, where CW stars are going up against the juggernauts from the other four broadcast networks. The Bad Boys division (which includes Chuck Bass, Dean Winchester and Damon Salvatore -- and Dean and Chuck are currently losing) is already off the front page, but you can still vote. Keep checking this page throughout the next month to support your fave stars!

* We know, we know -- there are those among you who sneer at such things, who protest that we should focus on the content of the shows and the nuances of the acting rather than the exterior facade of the people who bring our favorite characters to life. And we like to think we do that here... but that doesn't stop us from being able to celebrate the aesthetic pleasures these folks bring to bear. Are we shallow? Maybe. But we are having fun!

Blake Lively has a big birthday to celebrate -- the golden girl of Gossip Girl turns 21 today. That's right -- Blake is finally the legal age to start drinking some of those cocktails that Serena has apparently been knocking back since seventh grade of so.

Serena's had one hell of a year -- she returned from self-imposed exile to be with her suicidal brother, fell in love with a nice guy, had an illicit affair or two revealed, fought with and made up with (and fought with and made up with and fought with and made up with) her best friend, fended off the deranged stalkerish behavior of an ex-buddy, showed up in a tragically mis-styled bridesmaid dress for her mom's umpteenth wedding -- and that's just scratching the surface! She also managed to capture the attention of the Upper East Side and look damn good doing it.

Blake herself has lived a similar whirlwind since Gossip Girl debuted -- she's been on magazine covers, had glowing features written about her, and generally become a media darling. We see her beaming smile, gorgeous blond locks and fabulous fashion everywhere we look. Not bad for a young woman who broke into acting only three years ago in The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants.

We hope Blake has a great time on her birthday, whether she's snuggling up with real-life boyfriend Penn Badgley, out partying with her friends, or having a relaxing weekend with a few special folks. Happy birthday, Blake!

At the Gossip Girl party in the Hamptons over the weekend, Blake Lively dished on what's next for Serena -- and it sounds juicy (older pals, possibly revisiting things with Dan)!

Then Penn Badgley told us that Dan will be getting in touch with his "dark side" (wait, Dan has a dark side?) this season:

Eonline reports that Gossip Girl received a whopping 14 Teen Choice nominations, including Best Drama, Best Breakout Show, and Choice TV Actor/Actress.

It's true that GG is everywhere on the list of nominations. All three female leads (Blake Lively, Leighton Meester, and Taylor Momsen) are up for Best Breakout Female Star, and we were especially excited to see Ed Westwick's Chuck Bass nominated for Choice TV Villain along with Smallville's Michael Rosenbaum. But One Tree Hill also earned its fair share of nominations, including Choice TV Drama, Hilarie Burton and Sophia Bush for Choice TV Actress and Chad Michael Murray for Choice TV Actor. Our complaint: where are James Lafferty and Bethany Joy Galeotti? They deserve some noms, too!

Other shows represented include America's Next Top Model (Cycle 10 winner Whitney is up for Choice TV Female Reality Star, Tyra is up for Choice TV Personality, and the show itself is in the running for Choice TV: Reality Beauty and Makeover), Pussycat Dolls Present: Girlicious (for Reality Music Competition), and Smallville (Choice TV Show Action/Adventure, Choice TV Actor/Actress Action/Adventure for Tom Welling and Kristin Kreuk). Even Beauty and The Geek made the list with a nomination for Choice TV: Reality Beauty & Makeover.

Notably absent from the list: Supernatural and Reaper. And what about Everybody Hates Chris, Aliens in America, Girlfriends, and The Game? We think these shows were seriously overlooked -- do you agree?

The ladies of Gossip Girl are femme and fabulous in the March issue of Vogue!

Of course, this being Vogue, there's more talk about fashion than GG's plotlines. But we're okay with that, because on this show, fashion is practically a plotline all by itself!

The article talks about the inspirations behind Blair and Serena's looks on the show, from NYC socialites to prep school girls who reinvent their school uniforms. Blair's polished Upper East Side style means lots of Valentino, Alberta Feretti, and Diane von Furstenberg, while Serena's hipper, more casual look includes Stella McCartney, Vena Cava, and Alexander Wang. We liked hearing about how in real life, neither girl dresses quite like her character -- Blake is more classic than cutting-edge Serena, but Leighton is edgier than buttoned-up Blair.

Check out the magazine to take a mini shopping trip with the girls on the Upper East Side -- they hit the Dolce & Gabbana boutique and Chanel before stopping for lunch. We're happy to see Blake and Leighton getting some very major press, and we hope to see more of them as we count down to new episodes of Gossip Girl in April!

We don't know about you, but we're getting sick of winter. To pass the time until spring finally comes, we've decided to turn up the heat – by looking at the CW hotties who make us warm all over. But no matter how many times we hash it out in the office, we can't decide: Who's the hunkiest guy on the network? What about the most gorgeous girl? How could we possibly choose?

Short answer: We won't. You will! We've got a selection of the most delectable men and women from all of your favorite scripted shows on The CW. We're pitting them against each other – and you get to vote for the one who makes your pulse race or your temperature spike. How’s that for a way to beat the winter blues?

Take a look at the polls below. You vote, and the winners of each matchup will advance to the next round. By the end of the month, you’ll have decided who are the most stunning man and woman on the CW network. May the hottest two win!

Okay, Gossip Girl didn't really write that about Blake Lively and Penn Badgley... but she could have! We're hearing that all the heat Serena and Dan generate on Gossip Girl might not just be good acting -- The New York Daily News reports that the two are quietly dating. Squee! These two are already so adorable on the show, and they have so many lovey-dovey scenes, it's not hard to believe that their onscreen romance turned into a real one.

It wouldn't be the first time -- think of all the other teen drama couples that hooked up after their characters did. Offscreen romances are practically a requirement! Just think of Sophia Bush and Chad Michael Murray on One Tree Hill, Rachel Bilson and Adam Brody on The O.C., Katie Holmes and Joshua Jackson on Dawson's Creek-- and that's just for starters (the fact that none of these couples lasted is something we'll just ignore for now).

We'd like to think this gossip is true, but The NY Daily News isn't exactly Gossip Girl. We need her to confirm this juicy rumor! What do you guys think -- are Penn and Blake for real? And if so, are you a fan of this new relationship? Tell us in the comments and vote in the poll!

Blake Lively continues her magazine cover dominance this month -- she looks stunning on the January '08 cover of Lucky! Inside, Blake dishes on why she loves living in NYC (endless opportunities to buy a winter wardrobe) and shares her favorite brands. The former California girl is more about classic, ladylike pieces than girly trends.

While we love hearing about Blake's real-life fashion choices, we're even more curious about Serena's. Sometimes it's trendy pieces we definitely couldn't pull off (thigh-high stockings, ankle boots), but Serena/Blake can wear just about anything! For insight into Serena's style, try Gossip Girl Fashion or Fabsugar. The CW has a Gossip Girl fashion site, too, but it's totally sponsored by (and wallpapered with ads from) Victoria's Secret, so all the fashion choices are filtered through the VS catalog. Okay, they tried, but we know the girls aren't wearing all VS, all the time (let's face it -- Blair wouldn't be caught dead in a mall brand). Have you seen any good GG fashion sites out there? Well, Penn Badgley and Blake Lively were on The View for about four minutes last hour. Who saw it? Even though it was really short, we were impressed -- they're pretty well-spoken, especially Blake. Of course, The View ladies didn't exactly ask anything we hadn't heard before. What do they think of gossip (It can be bad, especially when it's about you)? Is the show too racy for teens (It's heightened reality, but it still comes from the behavior of real teenagers)? Come on, Whoopi and Sherri -- ask 'em something we don't know already!

One thing they did touch on that we hadn't heard before was the fact that Penn and Blake go way back -- like eight or nine years back! But before Blake could elaborate, Whoopi was on to the next question, so we'll have to figure out that connection on our own.

Penn's mom was in the audience, which was cute (and she was refreshingly normal and momlike). But poor Penn! His mom had brought some truly embarrassing cheesecake pre-Gossip Girl pics of him to share, including one that said "XOXO Penn" (eerily prophetic, given that it's Gossip Girl's tagline!) on it as he stared dreamily into the camera. Penn didn't look too happy about this, and he blushed noticeably.

As for their outfits? Blake was all grown-up ladylike in golden waves, diamond earrings, and a metallic strapless dress, while Penn dressed down for the occasion in jeans, a button-down, and a skinny black tie.

And that's about it! Hopefully these two will get more screentime next time they swing by The View.
